Karen and Tony Barone will receive the 482nd star on the Palm Springs Walk of the Stars.
The longtime Coachella Valley residents are known for their monumental sculptures displayed throughout the desert, according to a statement on Palm Springs’ website.
Display sites included the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert, Desert Regional Medical Center, the Palm Springs Library, the Terra Lago Fire Station, and on El Paseo in Palm Desert. Their work can also be seen in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, France and Germany.
The star, in the Artist/Architect/Designer category, is scheduled to be unveiled during a public ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 14, at the Downtown Palm Springs Park, located at Belardo Road and Museum Way.
