Eric Bishop has been appointed president of Riverside City College.
The school’s interim president since August, Bishop was appointed by the board of trustees June 9, according to a statement on the school’s website.
Bishop, who holds Doctor of Education, is scheduled to take office July 1.
Bishop’s background in higher education includes student services, enrollment management, athletics, legislative engagement, and community partnerships. He was appointed following a nationwide search overseen by faculty, classified professionals, management, students, and community members.
Riverside Community College serves an estimated 30,000 students a year and offers more than 100 study programs, including career certificates, associate degrees, and classes for students planning to attend a four-year college, according to the school’s website.
