Building products distributor lands in Riverside

A Fortune 500 company that sells roofing products and other building materials has opened a store in Riverside.

Herndon, Va.-based Beacon’s location at 2800 E. La Cadena Drive will serve residential customers and commercial contractors, according to a statement.

The store, which employs seven people, opened early this month.

“This area [the Inland Empire] is one of the fastest-growing population centers in the United States, said Nevin Holly, Beacon’s Pacific region vice president, in the statement. “We are pleased to serve contractors from our Riverside, San Bernardino, and Norco branches, which operate as a Beacon network.”

Founded in 1928, Beacon is a publicly traded company that operates more than 500 stores throughout the United States and Canada. Beacon has opened 21 locations and completed nine acquisitions this year, according to the statement.
