Moreno Valley Mayor Ulises Cabrera and Councilman Ed Delgado have been appointed to leadership positions with the League of California Cities.
Cabrera has been named to the league’s board of directors and will serve a second year as vice president of the Cal Cities Latino Caucus, according to a statement on Moreno Valley’s website.
“I’m deeply honored to join the League’s board of directors,” Cabrera said in the statement. “This is an opportunity to represent Moreno Valley and the Inland Empire on a larger stage, ensuring that our city continues to be a significant part of the statewide conversation.”
Delgado, a 23-year veteran of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, has been appointed to the Cal Cities Public Safety Committee.
“Public safety is at the heart of our quality of life,” Delgado said in the statement. “Serving on this committee allows me to help create policies that protect communities like Moreno Valley while enhancing security for cities across California.”
Founded in 1898, the League of California Cities advocates for local governments and is a voice for cities statewide.
“These appointments highlight the city’s growing influence within statewide organizations, with Mayor Cabrera and Council Member Delgado continuing to focus on policies that elevate public safety, infrastructure, and community well-being,” the statement reads.
