CBU to partner with Ameriflight

California Baptist University (CBU) just signed an agreement with Ameriflight that would provide additional career opportunities for CBU students who graduate with an aviation flight degree.

Ameriflight is a shipping fleet for the financial sector, courier companies and priority freight forwarders. The company employs over 600 employees, in addition to a management team. They operate 1,700 flights a week to 250 locations throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Caribbean and South America. The company flies over 90,000 hours annually.

In order to be guaranteed an interview with Ameriflight, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Complete CBU curriculum and flight training
  • Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Attain a position as a certified flight instructor

“This agreement is another vote of industry confidence for our department of aviation science,” Dr. Daniel Prather, chair of the department of aviation science said in a statement. “Ameriflight is a well-paying regional airline with a great need for pilots.”

Similar partnerships exist with SkyWest Airlines and Express Jet Airlines.
