Stater Bros. Charities presented a $20,000 check Wednesday to Feeding America Riverside/San Bernardino Counties.
Company officials presented the donation at 11 a.m. at 2950-A Jefferson St. in Riverside, the charity’s headquarters, according to a statement.
Stater Bros. raised the money through donations made at the checkout stands of each Stater Bros. market during the past holiday season. Supplies at Food Banks often run low during the summer, according the statement.
Stater Bros. Charities is a non-profit that supports charities and other critical needs in the communities where Stater Bros.’ employees live and work. It was started in 2008.
Feeding America Riverside/San Bernardino Counties started in 1980 as Survive Food Bank. It distributes more than 2.5 million pounds of food every month to emergency food pantries, homeless shelters, soup kitchens and day care centers, according to the statement.
