Chino has started the next phase of the Pine Avenue Widening Project.
Construction began early this month and is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2026, according to a statement on the city’s website.
All work is being done between Meadow house and Rincon Meadows avenues. The road will be raised, and a lane will be added in each direction to improve traffic flow.
A temporary road will be built south of Pine Avenue. In December, traffic will shift to the temporary road while crews demolish and rebuild the main road
When completed, that stretch of Pine Avenue will feature two lanes for both eastbound and westbound drivers, and a sidewalk on the north side of the street that will improve pedestrian access.
No full road or lane closures are expected, but drivers will see some weekend closures as crews connect the temporary road to Pine Avenue. That road will be a detour that will reduce delays, according to the statement.
