Chino Hills reopens trails

Chino Hills has reopened its 48 miles of trails used primarily for walking, biking and jogging.

The trails reopened Saturday after being closed for a little more than two weeks, according to a statement on the city’s website.

Social distancing regulations – wearing face covering and staying at least six feet away from anyone who is not a member of your household – are still in effect.

“Social distancing is working,” said Mayor Art Bennett in the statement. “If our monitoring of activity on the trails reveals trail users are gathering in groups larger than their households, or are not following social distancing requirements, we will have to consider taking steps to reduce use.”

The reopening, which applies to some parks, lakes and other recreation areas, was made on the recommendation of San Bernardino County health officials.

Face coverings are not required if you’re walking or exercising alone or with a member of your household, according to the statement.
