Riverside officials on Wednesday dedicated a state-of-the-art electric vehicle charging station at city hall.
The device, located on the west side of the city hall parking lot near 9th Street, can charge EV batteries and has two types of plugs to accommodate different vehicle charging systems, according to a city statement.
It can charge up to 80 percent of a typical battery in 30 minutes. The new charging station was paid for in part by a grant from the California Energy Commission and administered by the Southern California Public Power Association.
