Coachella Valley festival returns

The 25th edition of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival kicked off April 10 in Indio.

An estimated 250,000 people are expected to gather at the Empire Polo Club for the two-weekend event that will run through April 19

Both weekends are sold out, but the event will be streamed live on YouTube. Headliners at this year’s festival include Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G.

Nearly 45 percent of this year’s fans are expected to be first-time attendees, according to reports.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, along with the Stagecoach festival in late April, generates between $600–$700 million in economic impact. It supports thousands of jobs and creates roughly $20 million in local tax revenue, according to reports.

The event attracts over 125,000 visitors daily.
