Cal State San Bernardino raised $118,000 on Giving Tuesday, topping last year’s record donations by $8,000.
The donations were from more than 600 donors nationwide, and the amount raised is expected to grow as more donations are received and processed, according to a statement on the university’s website.
“Giving Tuesday at CSUSB is a powerful reminder that even the smallest act of generosity can create a ripple effect of positive change,” said Susana Barbosa, director of annual giving in CSUSB’s Office of Philanthropic Giving. “It’s a day for the entire CSUSB community — students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends — to come together, invest in the well-being of others, and make a lasting impact in our communities.
Giving Tuesday is held worldwide the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. The money will help projects that support student scholarships, essential resources and programs at Cal State San Bernardino, according to the statement.
