A judge has postponed a decision on Ontario’s lawsuit against Los Angeles regarding which entity should control Ontario International Airport.
Riverside Superior Court Judge Gloria Connor Trask said last week that the two claims she had hoped to rule on were complicated, and that she would issue a ruling before the next scheduled hearing on the lawsuit in February, according to a report in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
In November, Trask asked both sides to submit briefs detailing whether Los Angeles’ 1985 acquisition of the airport was valid. Since that purchase, Ontario International has been owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports, a city agency.
Ontario officials blame Los Angeles for the severe drop in traffic at the airport that began when the recession started.
