Dillard joins San Bernardino County

Marcus Dillard has been named chief of San Bernardino County’s Office of Homeless Services.

Dillard most recently worked at Riverside County, where he helped provide housing for more than 900 homeless individuals through that county’s Project Roomkey program and the March Veterans Village, according to a statement on San Bernardino County’s website.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Dillard has pledged to provide anyone in need of help with increased access to San Bernardino County’s housing resources and homeless services.

“I am excited about joining the San Bernardino County team and working with our community partners to develop a comprehensive plan to address homelessness throughout the region,” Dillard said in the statement. “Ending homelessness will require all levels of the community coming together to support these individuals, which is why we plan to develop a uniform approach to resolving this crisis.”

  1. I hope he does what no one else sees to be able to do. Being one of the unhoused due to slum landlords who decided to evict me and my 6 year old son for Christmas this year instead of doing the repairs I seem to not be able to find the help we need. Not one person I’ve called has actually been helpful. They just pas you around to someone else who will pass you the next person. This has been the worst holiday because not only were we wrongfully evicted I wasn’t able to get anything for my son for Christmas and he still believes in Santa Claus. We won’t even have a Christmas dinner. At least we’ll have each other.
