Eastvale wins zip code battle

Eastvale will soon have only one zip code.

Starting Jan. 1, the Riverside County city of 71,375 residents will operate exclusively under 92880, according to Rep. Norma Torres, D-Ontario.

Since its incorporation in 2010, Eastvale has had two zip codes: 92880, which it shares with Corona and 91752 which covers parts of Jurupa Valley. That has caused items to be delivered to the wrong address and much confusion among residents and businesses, among other problems.

Torres and Rep. Ken Calvert, R-Corona, sponsored legislation that directed the U.S. Postal Service to make 92880 Eastvale’s only zip code.

“This change not only reflects the growth and vibrancy of our community but also ensures that our residents receive the attention and service they deserve,” said Eastvale Mayor Todd Rigby in a statement released by Torres office on Nov. 28. “This redesignation is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our residents, businesses, and local, state, and federal government.”
