Electric cars for sale in Riverside

The Inland Empire now has an automobile dealership that sells electric vehicles.
Singh EcoCentre is the first auto seller in the two-county region to sell electric cars, trucks and vans, according to a published report.
The dealership is in the Riverside Auto Center next to the 91 Freeway. It opened on July 4th stocked with 20 electric vehicles, all of which were for sale at below-market prices, according to the report.
Ramon Alvarez, who owns Lincoln and Jaguar facilities in Riverside and has been in the automobile business for more than 30 years, also owns Singh Electric.
Alvarez founded Alvarez Motors Co., which imports vehicles from China. He started his first EcoCentre in Irvine nearly one year ago, and followed that with a dealership in Glendale.
Alvarez’s three dealerships currently stock 130 to 140 vehicles, and he’s considering opening facilities in the Coachella Valley and San Diego. The plug-in vehicles cost between three and five cents a mile to operate, according to the report.
Singh Auto Group has operated Subaru and Chevrolet franchises in Riverside since 1997, and the opening of Singh EcoCentre is a major event for Riverside, said Dalip Singh Sethi, president of the auto group.
