Esri conference to be virtual event

Esri’s annual User Conference, scheduled for this summer, will be a virtual event.

The conference will be held July 13-15, according to a statement.

“While not being together with our users and partners is a great disappointment to me personally, we are working hard to create an amazing event that will continue to move our community forward,” said Jack Dangermond, Esri president, in a statement.

“I have watched the Esri User Conference grow, evolve and improve, and I know this year will be no exception. My sense is that this experience will help us all learn even more about what makes our community so special.”

The event, originally to have been held in San Diego, is a gathering of technology innovators, executives, educators, scientists and several thousands of software users seeking to improve their own organizations with Esri’s technology.

Redlands-based Esri  is a global leader in geographic information system (GIS) software, location intelligence, and mapping. Its software is used by more than 350,000 organizations worldwide, including 90 of the Fortune 100 companies and all 50 U.S. state governments, according to the statement.
