Evans named Riverside’s permanent community and economic development director

Miranda Evans has been named Riverside’s community and economic development director.

Evans, who has been interim community and economic development director since February, will oversee the Building and Safety, Code Enforcement, Economic Development, Planning, and Real Property Services divisions, according to a statement on the city’s website.

“Since assuming the interim role, Miranda has delivered results that include attracting international investment, creating quality jobs, and elevating Riverside’s standing among leading economic development organizations worldwide,” City Manger Mike Futrell said in the statement.

Evans helped attract six international companies to Riverside, creating 700 jobs more $142 million in investment. She also helped the city’s s Economic Development Division obtain its accredited economic development organization status from the International Economic Development Council, according to the statement.
