Flooring store sets up shop in Moreno Valley

A Georgia retail chain that sells hard-surface flooring and accessories has opened a store in Moreno Valley.

Floor & Décor held a grand opening ceremony Sept. 18 at the 102,000-square-foot store and design center, located at 24318 Hemlock Ave., according to a statement on the city’s website.

The store, which employs about 40 people, is part of The District shopping center. Floor & Décor was established in 2000.

To help secure the property, Floor & Décor participated in HireMoVal, a city-sponsored program in which Moreno Valley offers incentives – including hosting job recruitment events – in exchange for a business hiring Moreno Valley residents.

“The new Floor & Décor is a great addition to Moreno Valley,” said Mayor Yxstian A. Gutierrez in the statement. “Floor & Décor not only brings more jobs to the community but, as the anchor store, will serve as a catalyst to revitalize the entire ‘The District’ shopping center. We couldn’t be happier to welcome them.”
