Fontana has started a loan program meant to help business and encourage private investment in the city’s downtown.
Anyone who owns property, or who operates a business downtown, may receive financial help from the city provided they use the money to improve property values in Fontana’s Downtown Revitalization Area, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The program focuses on the Forge District, an area runs along Sierra Avenue and Arrow Boulevard that the city wants to develop into a dining, arts, and entertainment hub. That area has about 300 new housing units, along with commercial spaces and parking structures.
“As we continue building the Forge District into a premier destination for residents, businesses, and visitors, strategic partnerships with the private sector are essential,” said Mayor Acquanetta Warren in the statement.
“The Downtown Revitalization Loan Incentive Program demonstrates the City’s commitment to investing alongside our business community to create a thriving, walkable downtown that reflects Fontana’s vision for the future.”
