Free rides for veterans on Veterans Day

Omnitrans will offer free and unlimited rides to all veterans on Nov. 11, Veterans Day.

Anyone who has served in the armed forces may board after presenting an identification card that proves retired military status, according to a statement on the transit agency’s website.

The offer is good on local, freeway express, and sbX routes. It does not apply to OmniAccess or OmniRide.

Omnitrans offers discounts to veterans year-round with bus passes and special fares. Proof of eligibility for those reduced rates includes an identification card from the San Bernardino County Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, and the U.S. Defense Department.

Omnitrans is the largest public transit agency in San Bernardino County, serving 15 cities and several unincorporated areas within that jurisdiction, according to the agency’s website.

  1. Apple valley town council keeps wasting town money when they budget they over spend like the intersection of apple valley rd. and highway 18 they are paying 9.6 million on something that should cost at the most 1 million if that so that is where the town funding is going the first thing we should be spending money on is police then fire department the road can wait unless the mayor and his town council wants the crime rate to go up priorities emergency services or a road we need new town council members immediately what are their qualifications a leader recognizes a need and satisfies it
