Hernandez named AV employee of quarter

David Hernandez has been named Apple Valley’s top employee for the first quarter of 2021.

Hired as a part-time employee eight years ago, Hernandez has held multiple jobs in the town’s grounds and public works departments, according to a statement on the town’s website.

Hernandez maintains town parks, exercise equipment and sidewalks, while inspecting safety concerns raised by the public. He also oversees the town’s reclaimed water project and will manage a landscaping project at Civic Center Park.

“David has become a valuable member of the Town,” said Mayor Curt Emick in the statement. “He has done a tremendous job supervising these community projects and beautifying our parks. On behalf of the town council, I want to congratulate and thank David for his service to Apple Valley.”
