High school students to get a jump on college

Students in the Victor Valley Union High School District will soon be able to attend classes that are part of Cal State San Bernardino’s curriculum.

The school district and the university have agreed to launch the High School University Program, which will allow qualified students to begin their college education before they graduate from high school, according to a statement on the university’s website.

Classes will be taught at several high schools throughout the district: Adelanto, Cobalt Institute Math & Science, Lakeview Leadership Academy, Silverado, University Prep, and Victor Valley.

Classes will begin during the 2025-26 academic year. Students will pay $10.50 per term, with activity and lab fees attached to some courses. Sessions will be tailored to the students’ high school schedule.
