Highland starts small business relief program

Highland has launched a loan program designed to help small businesses in the city that have been hurt by the pandemic.

The Coronavirus Recovery Fund will provide $7,500 grants to eligible businesses that can show a financial loss because of COVID-19, according to a statement on the city’s website.

To be eligible a business must be based in Highland, employ no more than 100 people, have a business license, and have been operating as of Aug. 24 of this year.

Also, the applying businesses must not have any outstanding code enforcement, issues, or legal violations.

The grants, sponsored by the Coronavirus State and Local Recovery Fund, may be used to improve safety, deal with closures or make up for financial losses.

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and funds will be distributed until they’re exhausted. For more information call (909) 864-6861 ext. 203.
