Highway project to improve ONT access

A Central California construction company has been awarded a $14 million contract by the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority.

Granite Construction in Watsonville will undertake the Archibald Avenue Improvement Project at the 60 Freeway, which will improve access to Ontario International Airport, according to a statement.

Granite will rebuild and widen Archibald Avenue between East Oak Hill Drive and Monticello Place at 60 Freeway Interchange. The work will include construction of right-turn and left-turn pockets onto ramps, ramp widening to accommodate additional lanes and improvement to sidewalks, crosswalks, and curb ramps.

Construction has begun and is expected to be completed by the end of this year, according to the statement.
