A major industrial project in Chino will soon be fully occupied.
Solo Cup Co., a leading manufacturer and distributor of paper and plastic cups and other products, is scheduled to move into the final building of the Empire Gateway Project in Chino in May, said Tom Taylor, senior executive vice president with Colliers International Ontario.
Solo Cup signed a five-year lease worth $14.5 million on the building, which covers 522,000 square feet. The lease was signed earlier this year but was not announced until Monday.
The company will use the building to store and distribute its products. The number of employees was not available.
Colliers represented Invesco Real Estate, the building’s owner, in the lease negotiations. Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented Solo Cup.
Empire Gateway, which broke ground in the summer of 2013, is a 125-acre project at Euclid and Pine avenues. Located near the 71 Freeway, its four buildings combined cover 2.1 million square feet, according to a Colliers statement.
EuroPro, an international tire company, and Cargo Solutions are among the tenants already located there, according to the statement.
