Inland Chinese form own business group

Some Inland businessmen have formed the Inland Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

Daryl Lee, owner of Abacus Management Group in Riverside, is the head of the new organization, according to a report originally published in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.

The growing number of businessmen of Chinese descent in the Inland Empire led to the formation of the chamber, Lee told the Bulletin.

Lee immigrated from China to California in 1984 and has lived in Riverside since 1997. He has been active with the Inland Chinese Association and has worked with the International Relations Council of Riverside, according to the report.

The chamber, which already has 12 directors on its board, wants to help build better relations between local government and the Inland business community and help local Chinese entrepreneurs deal with the language barrier, according to the report.

Lee did not return calls seeking comment for this article.
