A supply chain management company in Fontana has received a $3.5 million federal grant that will help it provide cleaner and more affordable fuels.
Tristar FLC Inc. will use the revenue from the U.S. Department of Agriculture on its Muscat Tank Farm biofuel project, according to a statement released Jan. 30 by the office of Rep. Norma Torres, D-Ontario.
A tank farm is an area or facility used exclusively to chemicals. The grant was made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which is the largest investment ever by the U.S. government to help reduce global warming.
“Renewable energy sources like biofuels are essential to accelerating America’s transition away from fossil fuels,” Torres said in the statement. “Tristar will boost the availability of renewable fuels, strengthen our energy independence, lower costs for Inland Empire families and bring good-paying jobs to our communities.”
