Inland malls hold back-to-school fundraisers

Two Inland Empire malls have donated $2,500 each to two local charities to help pay for backpacks and other back-to-school supples for local students.

The donations were made by Inland Center Mall in San Bernardino to the Arrowhead United Way, and the Mall of Victor Valley in Victorville to the Victorville Rescue Mission, according to Terry Relf, senior marketing manager at both properties.

Contributions can be made at https://www.arrowheadunitedway.org/inland-center-mall-backpack-drive and https://vvrescuemission.org/backpacks/.

“We don’t have a fundraising goal,” Relf said of the fundraising drive, which is scheduled to last through Sept. 15. “We will be grateful for whatever we get.”

Both malls are owned by The Macerich Co., a Santa Monica-based real estate trust that specializes in regional shopping malls.
