Redlands to redraw council districts

Inland manufacturing groups merge

The Manufacturer’s Council of the Inland Empire and the High Desert Manufacturers Council have merged.

Officials with both agencies recently adopted a memorandum of understanding “formalizing a long history of collaboration as the voice for the [Inland] region’s manufacturers,” according to a statement.

Wallace Brithinee, president of the Inland Manufacturer’s Council, and Steven Tyrrell, president of the High Desert group, signed the agreement during a ceremony at the Bear Valley Country Club in Victorville.

Members of both boards of directors were in attendance.

The agreement calls for the High Desert Council to continue to tailor programming for that market with the help of the Inland organization in marketing and programming.

The new council serves a 27,000-square-mile area that is home to more than 3,700 manufacturers, according to the statement.
