More than 2,000 people are expected to attend the grand opening of the Bloomington Branch Library, which is scheduled to be held Saturday.
The 6,700-square-foot building, located at 18028 Valley Blvd, is part of the San Bernardino County Public Library system, according to a statement.
It’s also part of the Bloomington Grove affordable housing apartments and the Lillian Court senior community, both of which were completed recently.
Ceremonies will run from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will include a ribbon-cutting, public dedication ceremony and tours of the facility. San Bernardino County Librarian Leonard Hernandez, Supervisor Josie Gonzales and Stan Smith of Related California, which developed the Bloomington Grove and Lillian Court projects in partnership with San Bernardino County, are scheduled to attend.
Eight food trucks will be onsite, and the first 1,700 people in attendance will receive a complimentary lunch and dessert ticket.
The county will soon begin construction of 85 more units at the Bloomington Grove project. That project is expected to be finished next spring, according to the statement.
