Marin named Apple Valley top employee

Andrew Marin has been named Apple Valley’s top employee for the third quarter.

A fleet mechanic, Marin’s primary job is to keep the town’s service vehicles and trucks running.

Marin, who began working for Apple Valley’s public service department in 2019, also fills potholes, maintains signs, inspects landscaping and runs the town’s street sweeper.

“Andrew consistently goes above and beyond the expectations of his position,” said Public Works Manager Mike Molinari. “During a recent heat wave, he took the liberty to ensure all air conditioners were functioning properly in our vehicles to guarantee the field staff could perform their work properly and stay cool.

“This is just one example of many that make him an asset to the town.”

Marin was recognized at the Aug. 24 town council meeting.
