Matthew Markin, an academic advisor at Cal State San Bernardino, has been recognized for promoting global collaboration in that discipline.
An advisor in the university’s Office of Academic Success and Undergraduate Advising, Markin was awarded the Charlie Nutt Award for Promoting and Supporting International Collaboration in Academic Advising, according to a statement on Cal State San Bernardino’s website.
The award was announced at the recent United Kingdom Advising and Tutoring Association’s 10th Anniversary Conference in London.
Markin is the host and producer of the Adventures in Advising podcast, which discusses international engagement in academic advising. Since it started in 2020, Markin’s podcast has featured nearly 125 episodes and 225 guests, according to the statement.
