Menifee announces two promotions

Menifee has two new department directors.

Orlando Hernandez has been appointed Menifee’s community development director, and Michelle Sarkissian has been named the city’s chef information officer, according to a statement on the city’s website.

A Menifee employee for the past four years, Hernandez has worked in city planning for more than 25 years, most recently as Menifee’s acting community development director. As director, he will oversee planning and building safety divisions.

Sarkissian, an 11-year Menifee employee, was previously the city’s information and technology manager. She will now concentrate on technology preparedness, geographic information systems, and cybersecurity.

“We are thrilled to welcome Orlando and Michelle to our executive team,” said City Manager Armando Villa in the statement. “Their expertise will play a crucial role delivering high-quality services to our community.”

Both began their new positions June 30.
