For the fifth consecutive year, Menifee has recorded growth in its third quarter sales tax revenue.
The city’s sale tax revenue grew 11.6 percent during July, August and September of last year compared with the third quarter of 2014, according to a statement released Tuesday by the city.
That’s the fifth consecutive year Menifee has recorded year-over-year growth in its third-quarter sales tax revenue.
It was also the second-largest year-over-year increase between any quarters since Menifee incorporated in 2008, the city reported.
Most of the increase – about 28 percent – was the result of the purchase of consumer goods, along with an uptick in building and construction-related spending, according to the statement.
