Moreno Valley gets e-commerce center

Another e-commerce fulfillment center has set up shop in the Inland Empire, this time in Moreno Valley.

Decker’s Outdoor Corp., a leading designer and producer of footwear, clothing and accessories, has opened an 800,000-square-foot facility at the southwest corner of Perris Boulevard and Grove View Road, according a statement posted on the city’s website.

Developed by Sares Regis, the facility is in the heart of Moreno Valley’s industrial area. The project will employ about 80 people full-time during its first phase and another 70 or so full-time during its second phase, according to the statement.

As part of the city’s Hire MoVal program, Deckers has agreed to hire at least 30 percent of the facility’s workforce from Moreno Valley.

The building, which can be expanded to 1.2 million square feet, is expected to generate more than $3.4 million in sales tax revenue for the city during the next 20 years, according to the statement.
