Muenzer named CC’s economic/community development director

Mark Muenzer has been named Cathedral City’s economic and community development director.

Muenzer, who has 25 years experience as a department head and development director, will be in charge of planning, building and safety, code compliance, and economic development, according to a statement on the city’s website.

During his career, Muenzer has worked on the Menlo Park El Camino Real and Downtown Specific Plan, the Redwood City Downtown Specific Plan, and the Culver City 2045 General Plan and Zoning Code, according to the statement

“Mark brings the experience and vision Cathedral City needs at this pivotal moment,” said City Manager Andrew Firestine in the statement. “Our community has real momentum right now, in housing, in economic development, and in the revitalization of our commercial corridors, and Mark’s record positions us to build on it.”
