Stacey Bailey, a teacher at West Valley High School in Hemet, has been named a member of the California Thespian Hall of Fame.

Bailey, who has taught at the high school since it opened in 1990, was inducted Saturday during the California Thespian Festival, according to report in The Press-Enterprise.

She created West Valley’s School of Film and Technology and has also taught dance and choir classes. Bailey, who is a member of the Thespian state board, plans to retire next year, having spent 35 years in education.

California Thespians is the state organization of the International Thespian Society, an honor society for high school students who study theater. It’s a division of the Educational Theater Association, according to the report.
