Beahta Davis has been appointed director of San Bernardino County’s regional parks.

Davis, who was appointed by the board of supervisors, has more than 18 years experience in parks and recreation, according to a statement on the county’s website.

Most recently, she was chief of recreation services for the department of recreation and parks in Baltimore County, Md.

Davis began her career managing a youth center for eight to 17-years olds operated by the Baltimore County Police Department, and she has been an adjunct faculty member at Frostburg State in Frostburg, Md.

Davis is a member of the National Recreation and Parks Association and is a former president of the Maryland Parks and Recreation Association. In her new jobs, Davis will manage and maintain San Bernardino County’s nine regional parks, which combined cover more than 9,000 acres, according to the statement.
