ONT expects rise in holiday travel

Ontario International Airport is predicting a 13.5 percent year-over-year increase in holiday travel.

More than 343,000 passengers are expected to pass through the airport between Dec. 18 and Jan. 4, with peak travel – 20,000 passengers – on Dec. 22 and Dec. 23, according to a statement on the airport’s website.

“Ontario International continues to serve as the gateway for Southern California air travel, and the convenience of our airport helps provide travelers with peace of mind during the busy holiday season,” said Atif Elkadi, the Ontario International Airport Authority’s chief executive officer, in the statement.

Ontario International recently earned the highest score among California airports in the J.D. Power 2023 North America Airport Satisfaction Study which ranked airports on their terminal facilities, airport arrival/departure, bag claim, check-in/baggage check, food, beverage and retail offerings, and security check.
