Ontario International Airport has partnered with the Los Angeles Football Club.
The agreement, which makes Ontario International the official airport of the men’s professional soccer team, will involve community events and co-branding opportunities between the two entities, according to a statement on the airport’s website.
The soccer team will have advertising throughout the two terminals, while the airport will have its brand prominently displayed at all LAFC home games.
Ontario International provides direct flights to and from 12 Major League Soccer cities. Starting next month that number will be 13, when Southwest Airlines begins nonstop service to Nashville.
“We are thrilled to support one of North America’s premier soccer teams and its loyal fans as the excitement around the world’s most popular sport continues to grow in Southern California and across the U.S.,” said Atif Elkadi, chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority, in the statement.
