Ontario International Airport will soon have its first duty-free retailer.
The Ontario International Airport Authority has approved a 10-year agreement with 3Sixty Duty Free and More Inc., a leader in global travel retail operations based in Miami, according to a statement on the airport’s website.
The store is expected to to open in Terminal 2 in July.
“The board of commissioners is pleased to award this concession agreement to 3Sixty, with its extensive network of partners and diverse suppliers,” said Alan D. Wapner, president of the airport authority board, in the statement. “This new concession agreement is further recognition of Ontario International’s emergence as a global gateway.”
In duty free retailing, no tax is levied on the products purchased if the buyers intend to take them out of the country where they’re purchased.
3Sixty operates at major U.S. airports, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Newark N.J. and Orlando, Fla. The company does business on five continents through a worldwide network of packing and fulfillment stations and retail stores, according to the statement.
