ONT names chief operating officer

James A. Kesler been named Ontario International Airport’s chief operating officer.

A Chino resident, Kesler has been a consultant for the airport since it shifted to local ownership in 2016, according to a statement on the airport’s website.

“James is well-known and highly respected among our commissioners, staff and airline partners,” said Atif Elkadi, chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority, in the statement. “His experience and depth of knowledge have been critical to our airport’s success since the transfer to local ownership.

“James will be vital to Ontario International’s position as an economic driver for Southern California as we move forward.”

As a consultant, Kesler helped bring Amazon to the airport as a cargo tenant, saw the airport’s real estate revenue increase by more than $3.5 million and helped attract more airline passenger service.

In his new position, Kesler will oversee the airport’s strategic and business development projects.

“I am honored to work with so many people who are passionate about creating a dynamic international aviation gateway in the Inland Empire,” Kesler said in the statement.
