ONT opens premium lounges

Ontario International Airport has added two high-end lounges that are open to all travelers using the airport.

The airport authority and Swissport International AG opened the Aspire Lounge facilities Thursday, one in each terminal, according to a statement on the airport’s website.

The authority’s board of commissioners recently approved an agreement with Swissport to operate the company’s premium lounges under its Aspire Airport Lounges brand. Guests receive several amenities, including hot and cold food and beverages, seating with power outlets, high-speed Wi-Fi and up-to-the-second flight information.

Adults will be charge a $37 admission fee. Military and emergency personnel are charged $30.  Visits can be pre-booked at www.aspirelounges.com.

“We’re pleased to welcome Swissport and Aspire Airport Lounges to Ontario International,” said Alan D. Wapner, board president, in the statement. “These new premium lounges add to the excitement and momentum that has been building at Ontario International.”

Swissport International is based in Opfikon, Canton of Zurich, Switzerland. It provides airport ground services and air cargo handling, and it operates 64 Aspire Lounges at 38 airports worldwide.

The company’s first U.S. Aspire Lounge, a refurbished facility at San Diego Airport, opened  in February, according to the statement.
