Ontario International Airport is off to a good start in 2025.
More than 475,000 passengers passed through the airport in January, a 1.2 percent year-over-year increase, and the facility’s 47th consecutive month of passenger growth, according to a statement on the airports’ website.
The domestic passenger count reached nearly 435,000, a 2.4 percent increase. International travel fell to a little more than 40,000 passengers, a drop of 10 percent compared with January 2024.
The airlines with the largest passenger share last month were Southwest (35.1 percent), American (15.3 percent), Frontier (11.6 percent), Delta (9.3 percent) and United (8.8 percent).
Air cargo increased by 6.6 percent last month, mostly because of a 300 percent increase in mail shipments. Freight shipments declined by 7.7 percent year-over-year, according to the statement.
