Porada appointed to ONT board

Debra Porada has been named to the Ontario International Airport Authority’s board of commissioners.

A member of the Ontario City Council, Porada replaces Councilman Alan Wapner, who recently resigned, according to statement on the airport’s website.

An Ontario resident for 45 years, Porada was elected to the council in 2008. She serves on the Water Facilities Authority Board, and is past president of the California League of Cities, Inland Empire Division.

“Ontario International Airport is one of our region’s greatest assets, and I am honored to serve on the Airport Authority Board,” Porada said. “The airport’s growth under local control has created jobs, expanded opportunities for travelers and businesses and strengthened our economy.”

Wapner stepped down from the board when it was learned he was a subject in an FBI  corruption and foreign influence investigation.
