Hesperia will be home to the first Sam’s Club in the High Desert.
The store will be built on 6.5 acres at Amargosa Road and Key Pointe Avenue, property that the retail chain purchased recently for an undisclosed sum, according to a statement posted earlier this month on Hesperia’s website.
The seller also wished to remain anonymous.
“This acquisition represents a significant addition to the city’s growing retail landscape, enhancing the shopping experience for Hesperia’s residents and neighboring communities,” the statement reads.
The project is currently being entitled. City staff will work with the retailer during the approval process.
Founded in 1983, Sam’s Club is a chain of members-only warehouse retail stores owned and operated by Walmart Inc.
