Feldheym Central Library in San Bernardino will mark its 40th anniversary later this month.
A celebration is scheduled to be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at the library at 555 W. Sixth St., according to a statement on the city’s website.
The program, which will kick off a year of events marking the library’s four decades in operation, will include a performance by the San Bernardino Youth Symphony, food from local vendors and a performance by magician Joe Wonderment.
There will also be a preview of Redlands-based Garner Holt Production’s Animakerspace which is scheduled to open next year. Children, teens, and adults will learn new technologies, including operating 3D printers to programming animatronics.
“The 40th anniversary of Feldheym Library reminds us of how this building has played an important part in the lives of generations of San Bernardino residents,” said Ed Erjaveik, library director, in the statement. “Celebrating this anniversary will both bring back memories for longtime patrons and provide a sneak preview of things to come.”
Event sponsors include Thinkwise Credit Union and the San Bernardino City Library Foundation.
