The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation and the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians will establish three Dodgers Dreamfields at Blair Park in San Bernardino.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held Dec.14 to start the $1.7 million refurbishment of three fields that will be converted into the 61st, 62nd, and 63rd Dreamfields projects, according to statement.

“Everyone deserves a space to play,” said Nicole Whiteman, CEO of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring this vital resource to San Bernardino, a city with such great history.”

Dodgers Dreamfields refurbishes baseball and softball diamonds in order to give families throughout greater Los Angeles safe places to play and host community gatherings. To date, the foundation has spent nearly $20 million on the project.

The San Manuel tribe donated nearly $1.3 million to help pay for the Blair Park project, the largest donation ever made for a Dodgers Dreamfields.

Blair Park is at 1466 W. Marshall Blvd.

Refurbishments will include new playing surfaces and grass, enclosed fields, upgraded dugouts and irrigation systems, new pitching mounds, bullpens and LED scoreboards resembling those at Dodger Stadium, according to the statement.
