Eddie Sell, chief of the Hemet Fire Department, has resigned.
Sell is stepping down to take a position with a Northern California city where he eventually plans to retire, according to a letter dated July 11 that Sell sent to City Manager Mark Prestwich.
Sell, who has been head of the Hemet Fire Department since late 2021 did not name the city he would be moving to. Hemet has not named an interim chief.
Sell previously worked for Cal Fire and he has been president of the California State Firefighters Association for the past six years, according to reports.
