Snoke named SB County’s interim CEO

Luther Snoke has been appointed San Bernardino County’s interim chief executive officer.

Snoke, the county’s chief operating officer since October 2020 has been substituting for former Chief Executive Officer Leonard X. Hernandez, who resigned, according to a statement on the county’s website.

“Luther has played a key role in getting several important public service projects to the finish line,” said Board of Supervisors Chair Dawn Rowe in the statement. “I’m looking forward to seeing how Luther performs in this leadership role while the board determines how to fill the chief executive officer position on a permanent basis.”

Snoke has worked for the county for 10 years. Before being named chief operating officer, he served as its interim director of Public Works, Land Use Services and Special Districts. He has also been deputy executive officer, strategic initiatives chief, and administrative analyst, according to the statement.
